How do I get to know Jesus?
First we must establish who Jesus is...
As Christians we believe that Jesus is the Son of the living God, sent to earth for one main purpose, to "save his people from their sins." Imagine this for a minute, God the Father LOVES YOU SO MUCH that He sent His "One and Only Son" to die naked on a cross for your sins. And all that He asks is that you believe in His son Jesus and you will live forever with Him in heaven. Every sin you have ever committed in action and in thought is washed away by the Blood of His Son. And here is the amazing part, those sins, according to Gods word, "Will never be remembered again.”
So what do you need to do to gain these promises?
Nothing... Just Believe
Nothing... Just Believe
Simple isn't it? In fact it's so simple that many religions today will have you think that this gift of salvation has to be obtained through certain prayers or specific acts of good works. But the Bible tells us something different. Paul the apostle tells us that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). Saved from what? Saved from our sin and saved from living in eternity away from the presence of God.
How do I get saved?
By just calling on Jesus and asking Him to forgive you of your sin.Jesus said "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) To think that Jesus came to sinful earth not to punish us for our sins but to lay down His life for us. Why would He do such a thing? Because He considers us His enemy? No just the opposite, because He considers us His friend. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is what knowing Jesus is all about.
If you would like to know Jesus as your Savior and Friend we would be honored to lead you in the following prayer:
Heavenly Father,
I come to you in the Name of Jesus.
Lord, forgive me for all my sins.
Change me, cleanse me, and let your Holy Spirit come and live in me.
I accept you Jesus as my Lord and personal Savior.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
I come to you in the Name of Jesus.
Lord, forgive me for all my sins.
Change me, cleanse me, and let your Holy Spirit come and live in me.
I accept you Jesus as my Lord and personal Savior.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
